In his book "The Wealth of Cities", Milwaukee Mayor John Norquist challenges us to view cities in a different way. He asks us to imagine making a postcard of the city that we see around us. "Would you place, this street, this park, this school or this building on a postcard"?, he asked. What a great way to analyze our city!
Charleston Mayor Joseph Riley put it another way:
"Look at your city and ask yourself, where would I pose my out-of-town
visitors? Every vista should be a beautiful backdrop".
